Filter-less humidifier cleans air without creating waste

The puripot P1N is an environmentally-friendly, personal-size air purifier that uses water to cleanse indoor air

Spotted: South Korea-based Dadam Micro has produced a personal air purifier that uses blue light to kill bacteria and other pollutants. The puripot P1N is a waste-less way to improve air quality, according to the company.

The puripot P1N is different from other air purifiers because it does not require a filter or cartridges. It uses blue light and TiO2, a photocatalytic ceramic material, to kill bacteria and remove odours from the air. Unlike many other air purifiers, the puripot P1N does not emit ozone. Instead, the oxygen is generated by the TiO2’s reaction to blue light. The oxygen decomposes, sterilizes and deodorizes harmful substances and odours in the air.

The system never needs to be cleaned or maintained, according to Dadam Micro. The air purifier is portable (it weighs less than a pound) and easy to use. It runs on 220ml of water, which evaporates into the air as the puripot P1N runs.

Dadam Micro is currently raising money for the puripot P1N via a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo
