The trunk show features items from Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Hermes

Spotted: In today’s fashion landscape, luxury doesn’t always mean new. In fact, more and more people are interested in buying pre-owned, vintage, or secondhand items. And when it comes to designer bags and accessories, reseller Rebag is at the forefront.

Rebag has partnered with Moda Operandi, a leading fashion curation platform, to showcase a selection of used luxury items in a virtual trunk show. The trunk show features more than 115 styles from top designers, including Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Hermes. 

Prior to the partnership, Rebag had spent the previous year laying the groundwork for its growth and introducing new technologies with help from a $33 million (around €30.53 million) Series E investment in December. At the start of last year, the brand also unveiled Clair AI, its luxury handbag identification and pricing software. Later that year, the firm established a store in Greenwich, Connecticut, with its Clair Concierge kiosk, which allows consumers to assess their items before selling them.

Shoppers can browse the available items for a limited time on Moda Operandi’s website. The visual and editorial content accompanying the trunk show is being distributed across both Rebag and Moda Operandi’s social media and digital channels. And the items in the trunk show have been curated from Rebag’s inventory of more than 30,000 items

Secondhand luxury is on the rise with previous innovations spotted by Springwise including a resale website focused on high-end fashion, a luxury brand that repairs its and other brands’ handbags, and a partnership to upcycle old denim jackets.
